so, i hv been watching a lot of movies recently.
i rented dvds from the store at Tmart. and...
that was my FIRST time. after 5yrs living here.. omg. slow huh.
yesterday, i watched 2 movies.
the first one was Ratatouille. sorry if i mispelled, im not that good with french words. if that was a French name... it is right?
anw, watched it with my sister. she was the one who rented it so yeah,
the movie was good . infact, i think it was so good that maybe.. im gg to buy it one of these days. the whole plot and characters were unique, i wld say.
rats.
at one point of time, i got really disgusted.. and horrified.
but it touches your heart, in a strange kind of way.
the next movie was an INdonesian one.
i love love it. partly bcos Ben joshua was part of the cast.
his character for once, was serious. abit too serious. (he even wore specs!)
but i cld not deny he looked superbly hot. (:
his fans shd really watch this one bcos you will get to see another side of him,
and it was quite impressive.
he really brought the character to life, he brought it justice, i suppose.
but enough abt that.
the storyline is one of the best, i wld say. a really gd, not so typical, Indonesian movie. worth watching!
but i hv to warn u, it will make u cry at almost every part.
well.. that was what it did to me...
i thought the female lead was quite pretty. i love her hair!
argh. why do all the stars get such nice hair?!
anyway today, i watched Red eye!
my sister bugged me at the store the otr time to rent it bcos she too, wanted to watch it.
just bcos the cover looked scary to her and the title of the movie sounded like it had some horror element in it.
i tell u, my sister's nuts. she only wanted to rent horror movies or those which scared the hell out of u. i won't allow that.
in the end, she wld be so frightened. nonsense.
i do not udrstd why some ppl can sit through 2hrs (or less than that) scaring themselves visually and audio-lly (?)..
it is not healthy.
it is tiring for me! holding my breath till the scary scene is ovr, anticipating the next shock, having to endure the irritatingly scary sounds...
oh yes. i've been through that... and im not proud of it.
once in a while.. maybe it's ok.
anw, back to red eye.
it's great!! awesome. made me and my sis screamed when Rachel stabbed Cillian in the throat.
ohgod. thank god he covered the hole with a scarf which he stole frm this passenger, bcos i wldnt want to see the grosteque wound.
i hate gore.
Cillian was really evil, merciless.
for those who havnt watch, u wouldnt want to know all the terrible things he actually did to Lisa(Rachel)
the pain and bruises he inflicted on her. and i still wonder, how a guy cld do such mean stuff to a woman! evil..
but strangely enough, i found him so appealing
it must be the eyes man... ahh smoky.
either that,
or i must be really saddistic. after seeing what he did to her, (he banged his head against hers, slammed her against a wall, threw her down the stairs..)
yep, that's some of the things.
and i can still find him hot.
oh syaz. damn.
it was a great movie, and i strongly recommend it.. for those who are suckers for action-packed thrillers.
there's eye candy too. both the villain and the heroine.
i love it! i will buy the Dvd. :D
i think it was on Wednesday that me and the girls: Felin, Fiqah, Mai and Nad had the movie marathon at Mai's place.
we started very late. way off frm the supposed time. i reached tmart at 1230.
we were supposed to be at Mai's place by 11. i woke up at 11!
and so did the rest, after i received a call frm Fiqah.
lol.
we shopped for snacks then rented some dvds.
the whole process took SO long, almost an hour?
hahahaha.
rented Hairspray and License to wed. finally
it was very cosy at her place. love the tv room.
we felt like we were at home.
there were big cushions for me Fiqah Felin to cover our eyes during the horror movie, The Grudge.
yep that was our first movie. ohgod.
we were in for the ride of our life.
thank god i wasnt the only one. Fiqah was much more of a scaredy cat than me.
and so was Felin. they were screaming, even before the movie started.
HAHA. mai was so relaxed and brave at the otr end. not her first time watchg!
i wld hv to say it was much much better than the Grudge 2!!!!! which i wasted so much timne watchg it at my cousin's place. it's all bcos of my sister.
anw, Sarah Michelle Gellar's bf in the movie was SO SO hot.
smoky eyes! i cld just melt every time he gazed into the camera..
his name was Doug in the movie. a tragic end for him sadly.
it was so sweet. his character was so sweet!
his death (oops im sorry!) bummer right!
anw, his death was the reason why Mai claimed she cried every time she watches The grudge.
and yes, it was heartbreaking.
justice was not served. stupid ghostly woman and her little boy!
it sort of poured during the movie, which made the atmosphere more surreal and eerie.
me Fiqah and Felin screamed and screamed evn behind the cushions.
Fiqah's hair was a wreck hahhahahah!
she looked like she was just out of bed! Nad joined us in the middle of the movie so she was confused.
we were so cacat la. thank god only Mai's bro and her maid were at home.
but it was fun. heh.
then we watched Hairspray!
finally, for me. ((:
yay! i love the songs! so happy, makes u just want to shout and dance, and make a fool of yourself...
the big hair. the colorful costumes! hee. and Amanda bynes!
she really cannot dance. we did talk during the movie.
during the songs. hahahaha.
then we ate lunch at her place too.
her maid cooked. Mai ate 3 plates, she said she was hungry..
haha. that girl eats a lot and yet she's still so skinny.
high metabolism rate.
lastly, License to wed!
a chick flick! i love chick flicks and comedies, anything which involves romance.
yay. happy endings!
anw, it's a really gd movie.
surprisingly. cast includes Mandy moore and John krasinski.
they look so adorable together! Mandy was very pretty in the movie. one of her best.
her clothes were all so nice!
the guy looks cute and geeky. u'll fall in love with him if u watch this movie.
especially towards the end, he was just so sweeeeet. and he tried so hard to win her heart back after he screwed everything up, yes i mean EVERYTHING.
i hv to get this out of my chest, it's a major spoiler.
anyhow,
Sadie (Mandy) was so upset by the whole thing. she got so convinced that she did not really know Ben (John) well and they were about to make a huge mistake by marrying so soon (the next day actually). so she sort of walked out on him and took their honeymoon tickets and together with her family, she flew to Jamaica for a holiday. one reason that she was so angry was bcos she discovered he had yet to write his wedding vows (evn on the day before their marriage) while she had written 7 pgs of her vows. disappointing right. that was the final straw.
so he had to win her back right. he did this really sweet thoughtful romantic thing that wld make every girl weak in her knees.
Sadie's room was near the sea and when there's the sea, there's a beach. frm the balcony in her room, it overlooked the beach.
so Ben wrote his feelings, whatevr he'd to say to her all on sand. and i tell u it was ALOT.
i wonder how long that took him.
it was SO SWEET RIGHT. aww man.
instantly, she rushed dwn and he said smth like this, "im sorry i have not written those vows. it's just that i hv so much to say to u but i just don't know how to express them..."
it came out all well. obviously, Sadie forgave him and all was well again.
the wedding venue was so romantic, i tell u.
so simple and serene. by the sea.
white and blue. it was calming.
the movie was great.
oh, Robin williams took on a crazy and weird character, just like he always does.
this time round, as a priest.
there u go. my movie experience.
2 more movies to go.
Freedom writers and Disturbia.
one or two quotes from Cillian Murphy:
“I take my hat off to the ladies. The amount of grooming--plucking and shaving and all the other things men never have to do. I went down and spent time with transvestites in London in the clubs and all that. Got an insight to that world, and it's a mad world, but they are very warm and very open people. It was a great experience.”
"But I liked looking pretty. I looked like my sister and she's a very pretty girl."
"Neil Jordan is one of my favorite directors. Not just because he's Irish and I'm Irish. In the world of directors, he's one of those guys."
